U.S. Chamber of Commerce Selects the Automation Federation Director of Government Relations to Business LEADs Network
Research Triangle Park, NC (27 April 2009) – The Automation Federation Director of Government Relations, Michael Marlowe, CNM, has been selected to be a member of the Business LEADs Network for the Institute for a Competitive Workforce (ICW) at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The Business LEADs Network—formed through a grant made to ICW from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—has the goal of empowering its members with the knowledge needed to have their messages of education reform resonate with community leaders, the media, and policymakers.
Marlowe and the other members, selected from around the country to be part of this Network, will become part of a national community speaking with a common message on education reform.
Kim Miller Dunn, the Automation Federation chair, said today, "I am pleased that Mike Marlowe has been selected by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to be part of the Business LEADs Network. Mike plays an important part in the Automation Federation's Workforce Development initiative. I know he will represent us well and will help strengthen our initiative by his involvement in the Network."
The Business LEADs Network will hold its inaugural meeting in Washington D.C., July 13-15, 2009, at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce offices.
When asked for his thoughts about this selection, Marlowe said, "This invitation is a great honor. I will be part of a group working to reform education for the betterment of our nation and to provide our children's children with better educational resources for a brighter future. My participation in the Network will help the Automation Federation in our workforce development efforts as I work to bring our message to the Network and to the nation. I look forward to contributing to world–class education and workforce training in America."

The Business LEADs network is a national network of business leaders who work collaboratively with experts, elected officials, and other stakeholders dedicated to improving education and workforce development in America. With support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, ICW will develop and support the network using a tiered approach which will include the Leadership Course, various working groups, and events.
