Government Relations

The Automation Federation as the Voice of Automation, has become a valuable source of information for government and elected officials to turn to for expert advice and opinions regarding the automation profession.  AF is committed to educating these officials regarding the critical role that automation professionals contribute each day to better the lives of everyone.

Eye on the Capitol

The Automation Federation continues to address several issues of importance with Members of Congress. AF is addressing the importance of cyber or electronic security of industrial automation and control systems (IACS). This is a critical issue because of the potentially disasterous impact a compromise could have on human safety and welfare, economic viability and stability, the environment, and the integrity of the overall national infrastructure.

The Automation Federation at the request of Members of Congress and staff has provided comments pertaining to Cybersecurity legislation that is concurrently being considered.

The Automation Federation continues to engage Members of Congress regarding the importance of building the Next Generation of Automation Professionals through the promotion of science, technology, engineering, and math to young people throughout our country. AF has offered support to proposed STEM legislation..
